For coeliac disease, “gluten-free” is not enough.
That is why we offer five flavours made on thoroughly cleaned equipment, sealed immediately after production and stored separately from the open display.
Almost all of our ice cream recipes are gluten-free.
However, an open display also means possible cross-contact. That is why “gluten-free by recipe” is not the same as “safe for someone with coeliac disease”.
Flavours we keep sealed and separate.
Chocolate Light contains no added sugar and no gluten, proving that a lighter choice can still be a rich chocolate treat!
An open display is never completely separate.
Our regular range includes many flavours that are gluten-free by recipe, with only two or three containing gluten. However, scoops, tub rims and the open display itself may introduce traces of gluten.
We can wash the scoop and take extra precautions, but with flavours from the open display we cannot rule out cross-contact.
Three simple steps to a safer scoop.
Tell our staff that the ice cream is for someone with coeliac disease, not simply a dietary preference.
Pistachio, Hazelnut, Lemon Sorbet, Raffaello or Chocolate Light will be served from separate packaging.
You will receive a sealed jar and a spoon. Because the ice cream is stored at deep-freeze temperature, allow it to temper for a few minutes until it is soft enough to eat.
